Sleeping in a river....

Well, it rained from about midnight last night until around noon today... not just little sprinkles, but major downpour. HUGE thunder claps and lightening all night long. Really no sleep at all. At least it wasn't cold. The tent had about 1/2 inch water in it, and when I went outside, I found out that we were in the middle of a little 1" deep river. We had to take everything out of our tent and go down to the laundry mat and put everything in the dryers at 6AM when they opened. We definitely were up at that time because it was still pouring. Everyone else in tents had the same problem, and everyone was at the laundry mat drying their blankets and sleeping bags...... Oh well, that's camping sometimes. But.... we had alot of fun even in the rain this morning and when it cleared up this afternoon. Right now it is perfectly warm and sunny. Since it was pouring down, we took the "Purple Bus" into Tusyon to the IMax Theater. They have different colored busses that can take you anywhere you want so you don't have to drive.. which is really nice since it can be really confusing. Tusyon is about 7 miles South of the Grand Canyon Village where we are staying. We saw an amazing IMax movie about the history of the Grand Canyon. It was like having the experience of going down the Colorado River on a raft - but not really doing it. Then we went to Sophie's Mexican Restaurant for lunch. At least by then it had stopped raining. We went back to our campsite to see what other damage had been done while we were gone... and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Since we literally only slept about 2 hours during the night, we took a nice afternoon nap in our tent. We are going to take more of the "Yellow Bus" to see more Lookout Points and maybe the sunset tonight. Jasmine eating S'mores last night at our campsite. We roasted marshmallows on our little Coleman stove. I actually put it together myself (after reading the book that came with it!!!) and am so proud of myself:))
At the IMax Theater, they have an area where you stand and it looks like you are standing in the Canyon when someone takes your photo:))
