Phoenix Symphony K-2 group....

Jasmine's arm is a little purple dot on the right side of the photo. The Phoenix Symphony building is really interesting because it has an entrance, then the rest of the building is underground. For what purpose?- I don't know.. acoustics? or just for the heck of it?

An essay from school this week:)

Autumn Antics...

Big skating weekend. Elite skating this morning, then rush home to get costume and face painting done, then drive over to Peoria Polar Ice- a 40 minute drive without traffic. We definitely made it just in time due to some Phoenix Raceway/NASCAR (Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks) event. Here's Rozaline with Jasmine and Katie- getting ready to go on the ice:) The hungry cat after her performance. The medals. One little boy was not in the photo because he was crying. He got last place:(( For a couple of years, I have asked both Jaime and Rozaline how the Artistic and Dramatic catagories are judged. They always say, "Your guess is as good as mine"! No one seems to know. They are judged by theater people who are not skaters. There were times where I thought Jazzy did kind of a bad job when she was Nancy Sinatra, but she almost always got first place. This year, she is skating much better, but they (the judges) don't seem to like "Marie" the cat from "The Aristocats" quite as much. Another challenge is Jasmines small size compared to the other kids her age and in the same skill category. The bigger/average sized kids just have more power, move faster over the ice, bigger arm movements- and that is what they are looking for- artistic and dramatic interpretation of the music. Some day there will be a major payback when all of those kids are big and tall... and Jazzy will still be small and will be a much better jumper and spinner:)) Here we are at Cheesecake Factory afterwards- at the Peoria Sports Complex. That cheesecake was so delicious, but there was no way we could finish it after our meal!
