Cold and rainy day....

Raining and 55 degrees today. First rain we have had for many months. This morning we drove up to a huge warehouse that was filled with toys and bikes. There must have been thousands of bikes in that warehouse. Each year, there is a huge "bike drive" in Phoenix put on by the Arizona Foster/Adoptive Parents Group. Volunteers clean and refurbish them all. Each adopted and foster child in the Phoenix area gets a new bike every year, if they want. Last year, we didn't really need one, so we waited until this year. A "new" bike!! It has the Disney Princess "Ariel" all over it:) They also give a bag of toys to each child,- pillow pets, watches, all kind of stuff. We also saw Jazzy's tricycle that we had donated. Here is Jazzy in our garage with her new bike. It is still pouring down rain and freezing outside. We'll try the new bike.. without training wheels!!! possibly tomorrow. d
Then, we went to a class at the zoo called "Beautiful Birds" for 5-7 yr olds. Most of the class was inside due to the inclement weather. It did stop raining for about 10 minutes, so they went outside and took large plastic bags of live ladybugs and spread them all over "the roses". Parents are not allowed to participate, so I was not witness to this:). I don't even know where "the roses" are. All I know is that when they came back into the classroom, they had quite a few ladybugs that had to be removed from their hair and clothes!!!
