today...

End of school day. Valentine box is full... lunch box is also full of uneaten lunch:(

Happy Valentine's Day

Lot's of parties this weekend! I let Jazzy open her Valentine's gift(s) last night because we are always so rushed in the morning. One of the Valentine's gifts I got was a cute little Hello Kitty dress. The pink sweater covers it up! Going to school today with the Valentine box soon to be filled with even more candy that we really don't need. Jasmine at school with Miss Ferdowsian:) Tonight we actually have nowhere to go- which is completely amazing! We have been at the rink every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for three years now. Sometimes Sundays and other days, too. There is some silly hockey tournament going on or something. Hockey always takes precedence over figure skating, of course. I think I am having some kind of withdrawal symptoms... or maybe it's just the anesthetic from my dental procedure wearing off. We have LOTS of things to do actually! We didn't finish practicing piano this morning, and we didn't get to go over the NAM (National American Miss) song that Jazzy is singing in July. We really try to practice it at least once or twice a day. She is singing "I Love You, Arizona" by Rex Allen. Really pretty song recorded in the 70's. I tried editing the song to diminish his voice but it distorts the instrumental part so much that it sounds like it was recorded underwater. I then contacted "RavenPheat" - a recording studio in Glendale. Really really nice people! They have edited all of Jasmine's skating music really nicely. I spent many hours unsuccessfully attempting to do that on my own:( It's not worth it. I lucked out when when I found RavenPheat online just by googling "recording studio- Phoenix". Anyway, they tried to edit the Rex Allen song.. and they couldn't do it either. They said that since it was recorded monaurally, you cannot fade out one part over another without distorting the sound. So- after searching for a karaoke version, we finally gave up on finding a pre-recorded "I Love You Arizona" song. Next step, record it ourselves. John Mahoney, the owner, put together a guitarist, violinist, and a percussionist- and they re-recorded the song. It still needs some editing to phase out the percussion at the end when Jasmine is speaking.. not singing.. but I think we are getting there. We can at least practice with it for awhile until we decide how to edit it. They didn't charge me an arm and a leg either... in contrast to the dental school where I spent the day. Change of subject:- Today, we opened up the entire area of my mandible and found that the bone has just disintegrated. Stupidly, they didn't have the correct instruments sterilized to remove the titanium rods from my jaw.. so they just had to close it up. I have to go back again in two weeks, have the rods removed, place another bone graft, plus insert some "growth factors". Then wait 6 months, and try everything all over again. I would just LOVE to go somewhere else, but then I would lose all of the 10,0000 I paid to have this done. They charged me another 600.00 today and I threw a fit. They cut it down to 300.00, and I am going to continue to scream until they make it ZERO. Oh yes, they had the resident suture up the area...ugghh... I know that we all have to start somewhere and I haven't done surgery for many years, so I would be in the same boat, but she kept pinching my tongue with the needle holders! And... she was SO slow that my procaine was wearing off in my mouth while she did FOUR sutures. She asked me if I wanted more procaine and I said..NO WAY. She has terrible injection technique! So, no food for me for a couple of weeks again...That's a good thing! Happy Valentine's day!:))
