Jaime's Bridal Shower..

When I told Jasmine a few weeks ago that we were going to Jaime's Bridal Shower, she said..."You mean we're going to watch Jaime take a shower?!!!" Uh -no. Had to explain to her what a shower was. She had so much food... and alcohol!! Got a little tipsy for the first time in many years:))) We made bath scrub with sugar, olive oil, and scents:) and played a couple of games. Then Jaime opened all of her presents!!! Making a cookie pizza with frosting and berries.
Jaime and Jazz
Here is Jaime opening the present we gave her.... a snorkel mask with a built in camera. They travel to Mexico and other places alot to go snorkling, etc,..which is what they will be doing some of in Belize. Jaime wanted this from Amazon.....funny thing to get for a bridal shower:)))

Really long day!!!

Very long day yesterday. First went to the ice rink to get Jazzy's hair done by Kimberly, who is a very creative person. She does hair braiding, embroidery, all kinds of sewing, cooking, and who knows what else. She makes Martha Stewart look like an amateur!!
Next, it was off to Gold Medal Gym for the Holiday Show. Jazzy's main gymnastics teacher Julie-Anne has really been trying to help her get her "pullover" on the uneven bars. She is so close but just cannot seem to get herself pulled over the bar on a consistent basis. They have to be able to do it consistently, not just once. That's all she needs to get to "Level 1", from "Firefly" which is where she is now. We have been doing extra gym time on Saturdays to get this skill done. All the other kids her age are Level 1-3, so she is stuck in this level forever it seems because of this one skill:( On the bars and balance beam with Julie- Anne.
Getting a gymnastics medal from Santa. Then, standing in our front yard. We had to go home for few minutes to take care of Jessie, change clothes, and get lunch.
Jasmine was then supposed to start practicing her skating routine on the public ice, but since there were three birthday parties going on at once, the place was way too crowded!! Many adults and large kids flailing around, falling:)) which would be me if I was skating. So, we started practicing the routine with Amanda (Kimberly's daughter) on the floor, rather than on the ice. We missed Friday night practice due to the school musical. Amanda, who is having her 18th birthday in a couple of days, Jasmine, and another little girl "warming up".
Amanda had to partially re-do Jazzy's hair because it was a bit messed up from gymnastics, plus she had to change the color of ribbon to match Jazzy's skating dress.
Jasmine and coach Jaime- on the phone:)) Jaime is a bit stressed out. She is getting married in Belize on New Year's Eve. Her mother and all of her cousins just arrived from Chicago to watch the Christmas show and stay in Arizona for a week or so, then they are all going to Belize. Many of the skaters are going too. Not us:((
Jaime and all of her students.
Jazzy on the ice. Annali gave us the little Nutcracker ballet outfit. I attached a gold flower to dress it up a bit. A funny thing happened. They started Jasmine's music half way thru, not at the beginning:(( She really didn't know what to do, so she just started at the beginning of the routine. Good choice. Then, they had her do the whole routine over again, starting at the beginning. Jaime said she was glad it happened, so that Jazzy could get used to those types of things happening. She did great, smiled pretty much the whole time, kept her head up, and did everything she was supposed to do. Great experience for her. f
Hope Gonzalez from Jasmine's Dobson Academy class came to watch!! They sat in the bleachers and played for awhile, then Hope had to leave. I am SO bummed that a photo I took of them didn't turn out:( I am hoping that Cathy's (Hope's mom) photos came out well, and she can email them to me. There were 122 skaters in the exhibition. All of our friends skating times were scattered thru the day. Jasmine at 2:30, AnnaLi at 3:30, Theresa at 4:30, and Katie at 5:30, so we ended up staying the whole day and watching everyone skate. People came from all over California for this show!!! Jasmine with AnnaLi who skated to "Over the River and Thru the Woods...."
Jazzy and her friend Theresa Robb:) the sweetest little girl ever:)
For some reason, Jasmine always wants a disgusting blue chemical drink they have at the rink. Turns her lips and tongue blue for hours, and I cannot imagine what it is doing to the digestive tract. I only let her have one on her birthday, and now at Christmas:)
Katie Kuedden and Jazzy- waiting for Katie to skate.
After Jasmine and each of her friends skated, I gave them each a bag of goodies. I had little personalized bags made that said "I Love Figure Skating" with their name on it. (Jasmine, Theresa, AnnaLi, Katie) Inside were items like a skating notebook, skating bookmark, skating stickers, skating pencils and erasers, stuffed animals, little necklaces in cute boxes (Jasmines' was a cupcake), lots of candy of course- which Jasmine has already hidden around the house. It was a really long fun day:))
