After Jazzy's eye appointment, I had to work for awhile, then we went to cheerleading and the Polar Express- which both just happened to be in the same building. Santa read the Polar Express book. He didn't read too well and mis-pronounced a few words:) and the elf didn't seem too interested, but the kids didn't notice. Afterwards, they all sat on Santa with the *real* beard's lap, made crafts, and ate cookies and hot chocolate.

Going, going, going all day...
After Jazzy's eye appointment, I had to work for awhile, then we went to cheerleading and the Polar Express- which both just happened to be in the same building. Santa read the Polar Express book. Eye appointment
This morning we had a follow up visit with Dr. Kelly deSimone, our developmental optometrist- who specializes in disorders like Jazzy's strabismus/amblyopia. Jasmine's overall vision has improved gradually from 20/80 to 20/30 with the glasses and daily eye patching we are doing. She still does not have stereoscopic vision i.e. she has very little depth perception, and her two eyes do not focus together. We are supposed to use even smaller beading exercises, smaller puzzles, more tracing exercises with fatter then thinner lines, and some iron on design making things from JoAnn fabrics. We are also supposed to start "in office" Vision Therapy in the next couple of months to speed the process.

Fun with Frosty.....
Today was "Fun With Frosty" day at the Tumbleweed Rec Center. Part of the time was without parents, so I am not sure what they did other than make Frosty crafts and an ornament. The other part of the day was Gingerbread house making. Our house ended up being a flat roof Anasazi style adobe house complete with a ladder made of pretzels. It wasn't too structurally sound and fell apart on the way out to the car:)! Jazzy had sugar overload and fell asleep immediately in the car.

Fun day....
When I picked Jasmine up from school today, she explained that Mrs. Slama was not there today because she "ate a bug" and had to go to the doctor. Then she clarified by saying...."she ate a fly" and doesn't feel well. I figured out after a few minutes that someone had told the kids that their teacher, Mrs. Slama, was not there today because she "caught a bug".... very confusing to a little kid. We discussed the magnifying glass at Seedlings and that little organisms that you can see under a microscope -kind of like the glasses as school- can make people sick.
Then, after ice skating, we went to the "big kids" group piano lesson. Ms. Karen gave each of the kids a "Music Bag" filled with toys and candy. Then, to top off the evening.... we went to the Tempe Holiday party at Tempe Museum of HIstory- the same location as ballet lessons. Lots of crafts, Santa, and a play put on by the Herberger Children's Theater.

last day of Seedlings for awhile...
Today was the last Seedlings class until January. We studied the Desert Broom... a common plant in the desert. We painted with desert broom branches, had a desert broom snack, and went on a hike.
Later, we went to cheerleading.

The Cardinals are out in Arizona. This one stayed with us in the play area.
