Brave Recital...

Today the Princess Ballet Camp had a little recital to the music and theme of Brave. Each participant made a little headband, danced with their group, and made a photo/drawing book for the week. Every photo I took was of Jazzy looking the other way... towards the teacher... Getting ready to go "onstage"

Princess Dancing this week...

This week Jazzy is dancing at the Princess Ballet Camp! It's kind of babyish...if you ask me... but Jasmine likes it. Just watching 65 little 3-5 yr old girls in their pink ballet outfits is cute. They do little crafts and have a "recital" in a couple of days.... Luckily, they are divided up into groups of 15 or so. Jazzy is in the "older".. and slightly more "experienced" group. This is supposed to be "preparation" for the Mini Ballet Company that she will be in starting in August... but... I've never seen them dance too much. I wasn't there the whole time, but... never saw them dance at all when I *was* watching. She says she really likes it, which is all that matters. Jazzy and one of the teen volunteers, whom she hangs on all day long.
Making fun crafts.

Emma's Birthday....

Yesterday was Emma Arbogast's 6th birthday party. It was a swim party/barbeque at her house. The house and yard were so full of people.... Jazzy's classmates and Emma's relatives. We had a good time, and I'm kind of glad this is our last party- that I know of- for the summer, at least until school starts! Playing "pin the crown on Ariel".....
Jazzy dominating the video controller the entire night.....
Swimming with friends!

4th of July...

Jazzy and I took the opportunity to do absolutely nothing. The weather is really nice.. very unusual. It actually rained and there is a nice breeze. We made salmon kabobs with zucchini, corn on the cob, bell peppers, shitake mushrooms, and of course the salmon. Even Jessie got a little skewer for herself.... but at 16.99/# for the salmon at Whole Foods.. she didn't get much. Here is Jazzy with her kabob that she made herself.
Jazzy wanted to eat dinner in the living room. I figured.. what the heck.. she already has her toys everywhere.. why not....
Way too much food for the two of us.

Phoenix Zoo Camp.....

Jazzy is spending the week at the zoo. I heard about several activities happening on the first day. First they went to stingray bay to pet the stingrays. Supposedly the stingrays "stingers have been "clipped" according to Jasmine? She said she did pet one... and it "blew her a kiss". Since Jasmine was the only kid the stingray kissed... all the other kids kissed her. I don't know if this is really true, or just a little story:) They rode the train around the zoo, visited the giraffes, elephants, petted a zebra ???? and saw the horses. They have a riding program there at the zoo. Glad I wasn't there... 112 degrees 70% humidity. Ready to go this morning:

Brain on a stick...

This week, Jasmine is in a class called PowerBrainTraining.com. I don't get to be there, so don't really know what they are doing. All I get is little tidbits of information. It is supposed to be a workshop to develop both sides of the brain more fully for better/faster learning. I only heard about a couple of exercises they did: put on blindfold and eat certain foods and be able to identify the food, played certain games..one called "Mocha Cola" ... "you pick a card, put one card in the middle and whoever has "zero" cards wins." I have no idea what that means, but that is word for word how Jasmine told me about it. She made a puzzle with her friends drawn on it, and a model of her brain!!:0) She also showed me how she learned to meditate. Here is the model of her brain:
