Zoo Camp 2014

Winter Zoo Camp. I will have photos next week. Monday: They visited the "gazelle barn", then learned about lizards and tarantulas. That's all I could get out of Jasmine for Monday. Tuesday: Worked with elephants. Each child got to give an elephant either an apple or cracker directly from their hand:) - thru a fence of course. That activity apparently created the most excitement. Then they "gave the elephant a bath" by spraying her with a hose:) Then they visited with the new 4 month old orangutan baby! I'm sure they did other things too- but that's what I could get. Wednesday; Visit and study the Andean Bear, tortoises, millipedes, lots of crafts. Thursday: Farm day. Milked a cow, played with goats and chickens. Friday:- African day. Fed the giraffe from the "giraffe tower", put a dead chicken in the tree inside the tigers area. Apparently the dead chicken fell out of the tree before the tiger could climb up there to get it :)

Zoolights

Tonight we went to ZooLights. I thought that-being Christmas Eve- it wouldn't be so crowded. Not so! We had popcorn and hot chocolate, and just walked around for awhile:) Something fun to do on Christmas Eve!

Ice Den Chandler Christmas Exhibition 2014

Jazzy was Minnie Mouse (thought I'd get some more use out of that costume) and skated to Minnie Mouse singing "It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas":) The exhibition was mostly yesterday with only two hours today. Rozaline is in NYC visiting her "inlaws" and Jasmine's friend Katie is in Minnesota attending her grandmother's funeral:( So, it wasn't quite the same without them. We did have lunch, a birthday party and Christmas gift exchange with Jenny, Abby and Gadiel at Rumbi Grill before the show. It's Abby's birthday! Then we just went across the street to the rink, watched the show for awhile, performed Jazzy's routine, then went home! Finally, no more shows or anything for a couple of weeks! My photos did not come out well at all:( I did purchase the DVD though:)

CCC Concert....

Chandler Children's Choir two night concert series:) I volunteered "backstage" getting kids lined up, dressed properly, fed, etc on the first night, then I got to watch/listen on the second night. Very impressive concert for that many kids...around 150 or so- from ages 7-18 yrs. Mrs. Aimee Stewart is the founder and director, along with her husband Adam Stewart and their five children ranging in age from eight to twenty something. No more concerts for a month or so! Jazzy with her "Perfect Attendance" award:)
