Rain Barrel Class

Tonight we took a Rain Barrel making class from the Fargo Parks and Rec. I thought there would be some men there- but no, it was all women:) I guess guys already know how to make rain barrels. I learned how to use the drill properly and "install" the faucet. And what was very nice was that if you sign a form saying that you will teach someone else to make a rain barrel, they give you 60% of your money back. Now all I need is the gutter! We've definitely got the rain!

Fargo Moorehead Youth Choir

Last night, the F-M Youth Choir had a small concert for the Bethany Nursing Home- a HUGE group of nursing homes in the area.

Happy Easter!

Just hanging around the house today. Another really warm and pretty day! The Easter Bunny brought Jasmine a little sewing machine. She has already made everything in the entire kit- a purse, makeup bag, smiley pillow, dog pillow. Having fun!

Grand Forks Master Gardener.....

Last week, we drove up to Larimore, ND- just west of Grand Forks to the Myra Arboretum. It was part of my Master Gardener Certification- 40 hours of volunteer work after taking the class and passing all the tests. This "arboretum" was opened in 1980, but there was no money to maintain it for the past 37 years except for mowing the lawn. That's it! There were fourty of us "pruning" trees. I have no idea how to prune trees. Most of the other people didn't know either, but I guess that's why they had all of us inexperienced people volunteering there. Esther McGinnis- NDSU Extension Professor at NDSU Horticulture Department and teacher of the Master Gardener Class said - "Just trim them down. You can't hurt them". Anyway, Jasmine was happy because she was able to get off school for the day. It was a two hour drive, four hours of tree trimming for me and picking up sticks for Jasmine, then two hours home. I was exhausted. Jasmine thought it was fun! At least we all got a nice free lunch:) It was a perfect beautiful 65 degree day with a little breeze. We felt like we were in San Diego!

My 5th Grade Science/Innovation Project

I spent many hours this past weekend making the board, doing the report, making the booklet with all of the monoterpene oils for colds and flus, and making all of the lip balms, body butters, cold and flu rubs and many other things. I hope I get an A! Then I was told (by Jasmine) that I was not welcome in the classroom. I went in anyway. Here is my board. The book I made of all of the oils. Jasmine and her "friend" Brianna- the thorn in my side. Brianna won't make eye contact with me because of our "past". Brianna is banned from our house and her phone number is blocked. Well, at least making the board and the reports helped me study for my Master Aromatherapist classes.

It's a looonnngggg weekend!

Making some kind of slime out of glue, laundry detergent, essential oils, and glitter. I'm not sure of the purpose of this "slime"!Putting makeup on at 8pm. Apparently, after I went to bed due to a very bad cold, they stayed up all night making messes everwhere:( Today we ate at Pizza Ranch where Samanta's mom works. Next we went to a Fargo Caribbean swim party. Now we're watching movies and getting into something else! This is a really really long weekend!
