Sleepy Day....

I had to go to yet another long drawn out continuing education weekend. At least this time it was on botanical medicine... a little more applicable. Jasmine stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Blakeman next door. Here is what I saw when I came to pick Jazzy up!

Good Friday at the beach...

After spending yesterday at two dental surgeons, and still not being done... we had a little vacation at the Newport Beach today. We got there early in the morning because one of the surgeons at Orange County Microscopic Endodontists (good grief!) said that he might be able to work me in today for my second appointment. They wanted me to have my cell phone with me all day so that I could be "on call" for a possible appointment. At 1PM, they called and said that they would not be able to see me and I would have to come back in a few weeks instead. So... we spent the entire day at the beach and took tons of pictures and video.

First we walked up and down the entire Newport Pier and visited with the fishermen and pelicans. It was *way* too cold to swim.... as Jazzy found out when the tide came up a little on her feet and she started screaming. We spent the rest of the day walking up and down the boardwalk, getting ice cream and junk food so that we could keep getting change for the parking meter. $1.00 per hour parking.... and they only take quarters... and they were writing lots of parking tickets, too. The weather was perfect... 70 degrees... and the beach wasn't really crowded at all.

We had a great time, and maybe we'll come back in a couple of weeks.... depending on the scheduling. All of this just for one tooth... then lots of other teeth to take care of later.....

Our little mini vacation.....

Today, we did a 8 hour drive to Newport Beach, CA. The traffic wasn't bad at all. We made one pitstop at a ultra-slow motion IHOP in El Cajon... just outside of San Diego. It was like the people who worked there were mentally challenged or something.

The rest of the drive was really pretty.... alongside the ocean... and the weather is perfect. 75 degrees, humid, breezy alonside the ocean.
After unpacking at the hotel, we went for a short walk. Next door to the hotel is a dive Vietnamese restaurant where we ate dinner. I think that Vietnamese kids and people....just genetically like shrimp. Jazzy must have eaten about 10 big shrimp dipped in the peanut sauce. She got extra special treatment from the owners and people working there.

Tomorrow we go to Steve Page, CCN... a nutritionist to test us for nutritional issues, then on Thursday... I get to go to a dentist in Irivine... just down the street. Dr. Randy Aguillera is a biological dentist who uses substances that are biocompatible with the body to make the crowns, fillings, etc. My crowns are very old and falling off and need alot of work. I am sure we will need to come back here multiple times. Jasmine will go to a "drop in" pre-school down the street from the dentist. They have all kinds of activities for the kids all day long and are open until 9pm.
Friday.. we get to go to the beach!!!... then drive home on Saturday.

In front of our hotel. Jasmine collects "lucky leaves". Everywhere we go, we have a pile of "lucky leaves".

Eating the "free breakfast" at our hotel.

Cat Fanciers Association cat show....

Today, after swimming lessons... Jazzy and I went to a cat show in Phoenix. There were cats and people there from all over the country showing their cats in 5 different show rings. They represented various breeds of both cats and kittens.... as well as "household pet" classes. There were even little 10-12 yr old girls showing their cats... which was very fun for Jazzy to watch.
It was extremely crowded there because apparently the cat show had grown alot since last year and the place was too small.

There were people and cats everywhere running to get to their respective classes. It was funny to see the people dressed in the same color as their cats. White cats had owners dressed in white, black cats had black clothed owners, and one woman had the most pretty blouse on that was carmel and brown.... which matched her Tortoise cat perfectly. She even had large pieces of tortoise shell jewelry on. I wanted to take her picture but she was running to get to the show ring. We had alot of fun.
