New Classes for Spring....

Jazzy is a busy little girl this spring. A different acting class with a different teacher, Sam, on Monday nights. Tuesday is "classical dance" with Ms. Jana. She has taken this class before. We temporarily stopped it because of karate. They learn both tap and ballet in that class. Gymnastics... as always on Monday morning. Skating on Friday. Then Zumba (which hasn't started yet) and hip hop back to back on Saturdays. The parents are not allowed in any of the Parks and Rec classes, so the photos are all of her just waiting to go into class:(. We just get to sit outside and play with our new cell phones:)

Swimming on Sunday afternoon.
Waiting with the rest of the class to start hop hop with Stacey J... a professional dancer.
Waiting for acting class.

St. Patrick's Day.....

Still no photos....but I've been updated on the Polar Ice skating adventures. Let's see.... watch alot of violent animated TV in the morning then skate for awhile. Today was Science Day, so they went outside and exploded some type of "black drink". "Mommies and Daddies don't like it". "But we went outside, and we didn't make a mess inside". Good to know! Ate pizza again and fruit salad. No "tree branch dressing" today! Had a karate lesson both today and yesterday from "Mrs. Gavin"... who I suppose is the wife of the owner of the karate place next door- owned by a guy named "McGowan". What else?.... "Went to the potty and someone came in and said "Do you need any help in here?- and I said No". See.... after conducting homeopathic interviews for the last 20 years... I get all the details:). Today I showed up about an hour early to see what they were doing.... and sure enough... they were watching TV:(. Yesterday, Jasmine "got in trouble" for yelling "shut up" twice to some "older girls"..(age 7-8yrs) who were telling her to do something. I told them that Jasmine was not used to watching so much violent TV. Their response "All of the cartoons are approved by the manager". Really. Then, one of the little teenage girls running the camp told me that Jasmine fell alot today. She has a bruise and bump on her forehead, large bruise and swelling on her knee and I am informed that "her butt hurts". Guess that's just part of skating!. And.... last but not least... Jasmine proceeds to tell me ... as we are walking out... that she put a full glass of lemonade in her backpack... as it is dripping out all over the sidewalk. Everything inside.... as well as the backpack itself is/was covered with sticky lemonade. Awesome!! Hosed it off outside. The only good thing about this "camp" is that she may have had about 10 hours of skate time... no instruction... but still just skating around on the ice is helpful. Probably not going to go back to this camp again... but at least got some skating time in:)

Funny thing...

Today when I picked Jazzy up, I asked her what she did at camp. She always answers "I don't know". After many questions, I found out that they went on an "adventure in California" and "played hockey games". When I asked what she ate for lunch, she said... "pepperoni pizza, carrots and tree branch"! I had to be quite a detective and finally found out that "tree branch" was a "sauce" for the carrots. I put two and two together and determined that "tree branch" is "Ranch" dressing:)) Silly.

Skate, Rattle and Roll

Today was the first day if ice skating camp at Polar Ice Rink. I wasn't there at all so only know second hand what they did.... but here is what I heard: Watch cartoons, go skating, eat hot dogs and french fries, go skating again, do beading craft, watch more cartoons. So, when I left and when I came back... they were doing the same thing.... watching TV.
Anyway, this was the first time in 2 1/2 years that I will have an entire week from 9-5 to get things done instead of constantly getting interrupted... Mom, can I go ride my bike? Mom, will you make a sandwich? Mom, will you put Sid the Science Kid on? We have to go to gymnastics now. We have to go to school now? and on and on. I got more done just today than I usually do in an entire week!

Here is Jazzy at the ice rink with her "Skate Rattle and Roll" tee shirt. She fell asleep within 30 seconds of getting into the car.

Meet the Creature

Every few weeks or so, the Environmental Education Building in Chandler has a "Meet the Creature" day for kids. There were many guinea pigs of course.... so used to going into their little bags for the kids to pet... that they just run in when you hold the bag close to them. There were also chickens with diapers on... a good idea. The chickens were so used to being petted that they didn't even move... just sat in one place. There was also a lizard used to being carried around by children.. but Jazzy wouldn't pet him. The woman who has the class is a professional wildlife rehabilitator. She brought in "Quinn" the Patagonian Cavy... kind of looks like a cross between a jackrabbit and a kangaroo. She also had a little 7 day old Patagonian Cavy that she was bottle feeding. There was also a ringtailed cat... which apparently has their densest population in Maricopa County, AZ. An African fox- retired from the zoo due to age and because his wife died... also visited. He was blind due to taurine deficiency as a "kit'. Now he eats a specially formulated "fox food" and his favorite is blueberries and cranberries.

Jasmine and Quinn.
lots of guinea pigs in their little pouches for the kids.
A little chick with some type of neurological damage from a dog.

Me and My Gal Day at School

I spent the day at school with Jazzy yesterday. We had music class, played on the playground, made crafts, had a snack, and each child was interviewed about their mother. Since I forgot my camera, I took photos with my new phone camera, but somehow cannot get them to transfer to the computer.

The questions were: How old is your mother? ages ranged from 7-79. I am 10 yrs old, even though Jasmine has asked me how old I am and I have told her. What is the best thing she cooks? vegetables. I guess because we have been eating alot of stir fry lately. What is your mother's favorite thing to do? play Candyland. What do you like to do with your mother? Hang around on her:) At least she didn't say "watch Dancing with the Stars" which is what she said last time. Very embarassing. What does she look like? just a Mom. What is the nicest thing you mother does for you? She helps me clean up. Then she drew a picture of "Me and Mom working":)
Later we made a little heart craft.
