Scoutarama...
About a month ago, Jazzy and I were in the grocery store when all of the sudden we heard...."Hey look, there's that little girl who dances with our sisters". "Let's go get her".... It happened in slow motion and I tried to run, but wasn't fast enough. Suddenly we were surrounded by Cub Scouts and a couple of dads. "Could you please buy some Scoutarama tickets". I didn't know what a Scoutarama was, but felt somewhat obligated. I saw the date they were holding it, ... April 14th, and thought - why in the world would they want to have it in April? It will be 100 degrees by then!
I almost threw out the tickets when we got home.
So, obviously we went today. It was a nice cool day- extremely unusual. Every Cub Scout Den from the entire state of Arizona was there. They had it at Kiwanis Park in Tempe,
and it took up the entire park.... which is an entire city block. There were all kinds of science projects, obstacle courses, "calf" roping, arts and crafts, singing performances by the Cub Scouts.. (ouch my ears!), home made rockets going off, little derby car races, chess tournaments, and little mini seminars given by the little Scouts on how to start a fire, make an oven out of a cardboard box, and other interesting things. Cabella's, REI and other companies were there to show the latest and greatest new camping/hiking equipment. There were probably around 1000 people there! Just something that I really wasn't looking forward to, and felt I had to go because our friends were there from our dance troop, and then it turned out to be really fun!
Jazzy watching a chess tournament.
Making all kinds of crafts. One booth we visited had to do with dairy cattle and beef production... i.e. all of the different cuts of beef that I have long forgotten. Love how Jazzy made the udder pink and put a pink heart brand on the cow:))
Eating the free ice cream.

Dinner and a movie:)
Today we saw the movie "The Lorax". I usually don't like Dr. Seuss, but it was really cute. Lorax is the "Speaker for the Trees", and the movie is about environmentalism. Then we went to Pita Jungle for salmon and salad, then topped it off with ice cream. Nice Easter:) !
Happy Easter!
Jasmine woke me up several times in the middle of the night...."Did the Easter Bunny come?'.... over and over again. It wasn't even light out yet when she insisted on getting up:) She received alot of presents from the Easter Bunny/Grandma, Grandpa/Mommy, including a toothbrush that she decorated with stickers:). Thanks for the noisy animal sound maker, Easter Bunny!
We will probably go to a movie later on today.

Gold Medal Gymnastics Easter Egg Hunt...
The actual Easter egg hunt was over within five minutes. I am not exaggerating. Then they were supposed to play games and do crafts, but Jasmine would not participate. She just stood in the corner and would not join in any of the games. There were too many kids there for the instructors to focus on just one kid, so we ended up leaving early:( I was pretty aggravated with her.
One funny thing... there is a little boy Dominique who absolutely loves Jasmine. He constantly hugs her, touches her hair, wants to hold her hand..... just kept hanging all over her. It was kind of funny, but at the same time annoying for both me and Jasmine. Just this little guy that just hung on her the whole time like a mosquito... Gag me!!! Getting ready for the egg hunt. Jasmine and Dominique. Sorting the eggs.

Environmental Education Center....
Today we visited EEC in Chandler, and took a little class on rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. Quinn the Patagonian Cavy was there of course. Ms. Lisa and her husband are Wildlife Rehabilitators and give classes for little kids. We have gone several times to her classes, and they came to Jazzy's pre-school last year.
We had a short 30 second lecture on how to hold the bunnies, chickens
and little pigs, then a free for all... brushing, decorating the rabbits and little chickens with hair berets and bows. Jasmine then pretended she was a groomer, and I had to "pay" her to groom my bunny:)
Then we stopped at a nice Mexican restaurant on the way home.

Craft from last month...
This is Jasmine's craft from St. Patty's Day. It was hanging in the hallway outside her classroom:) They took photos of the kids, enlarged them, and made the beard and hat. Totally cute:).
Today Jasmine gave her presentation on her Math Vending Machine! Miss Wachtel told me that she did very well, was very articulate in explaining what it was, and answered all of the other kid's questions about what it is and how it works:)) The only other project I saw as of today was one made by Jasmine's classmate, Briannah. It was a box that you can put a vegetable into... and it makes that vegetable taste good!:)) I am sure I will see and hear of more projects next week.
As for me, I spent most of the day at the dentist again. I had all of my records transferred to AT Still University Dental School in Mesa.... from the MIdwestern Dental College which I did not like..... for many reasons. The dentist I have now is a 3rd year resident and she is moving to Alaska to practice with her brother in July....Darn, finally when I find someone I like:( Anyway, I had a skull CT Scan today which is the prerequisite to making the dental implants. It is so sophisticated, I am not even sure I understand it... but somehow, from the CT results, they will custom- make the implants just for me.... then they will be implanted with computerized guidance. It's taken me many years to save up for this "big event"....and I still don't have enough.. but hopefully by the end of this year I will. In a couple of months, we/they are going to finally do a bone graft on my left lower jaw because it is "too thin". (wish the rest of my body was). Then, there will be a ugly gaping hole in my left jaw for one year while the bone builds up... then finally next year about this time, we will be doing the implants. I told the radiology tech today that I am so happy to be getting 10 years of radiation on my head today, and he said.."Oh no, no, no.... this is "pulsed radiation" so it is "not much".... Hmm.... why don't I believe you? I didn't say that out loud though.
