Photos from Shingobee Website

I didn't even know that they posted any photos. I found two photos from this year and two photos from 2016. Jazzy's Outdoor Art group: 2016 photos- at least she's smiling!

Back from Shingobee....

On the days I dropped Jazzy off and the day I picked her up, there were perfect blue skies and perfect temperature. The other two days she was there were cloudy and drizzly. Apparently, they still went hiking, swimming and boating in the rain. Jasmine's counselors were "Lolly" and "Patch". I am not sure why all of the camps always have international counselors. Most of the counselors were from England or Germany. I guess one of the big camp events was when Lolly had a dental emergency, had to go to an emergency room in the middle of the night because she was in so much pain, then had to have a tooth pulled the next day. What else- I heard lots of camp songs, stories of the "ropes", rock wall climbing, canoeing in the lake, a tick found behind Jasmine's ear:(( (it's Minnesota- the tick capital of the country), and Jasmine couldn't sleep because they leave the lights on all night long- weird. At least when she came home, she was in good spirits. A "galaxy tee shirt" made by splashing chlorox on a black tee shirt and putting glitter all over it. A "sand candle" with real daisies on it, a jewelry box made out of popsicle sticks, a purple and pink paper mache globe with lots of glitter on it, a piece of soap in the process of being transformed into a star, and a murder mystery invitation. Apparently, one night they had a "murder mystery" game:) I also heard that they had "super sessions" - a British baking class where they made "butterfly buns"- something like cupcakes? and a British party game where several small "presents" are wrapped up in many layers of toilet paper. You pass the ball of TP with gifts inside around the circle of girls. When the music stops playing, the person holding the TP ball gets to take one layer of the ball off and get the candy/gift underneath. Here is Jasmine's roommate "Macey" from Walker, MN- right down the street from the camp. She took the photo with her little camera. Standing in front of the lodge- going home!

Camp Shingobee Timbers

Grumpy Jasmine arriving at Camp Shingobee Timbers for "Outdoor Art Camp" on July 11 for 2 1/2 days. It was a long drive for such a short camp, plus it's been sprinkling and grey for the last two days:( The grey day will match Jasmine's lovely personality. She said very nastily, "Go away and get out of my room". As a result, Jasmine's spending money at the "camp store" disappeared. Too bad!

Farm Camp

Today, Jazzy went to "Farm Camp" at "Rusty K Ranch" in Davenport, ND. She seemed to really enjoy it. She rode a horse named "Leo", played with the alpacas and goats, fed the horses and other animals, then made a tic tac toe board. We were almost late because "mapquest" said that it took around 30 minutes to get there, but what it failed to mention was that most of the roads were dirt/gravel. We could only go 10-20 mph. Oh well..we made it and she had fun:) It was 97 degrees and 50% humidity today! Rusty K Ranch. Of course, Jasmine was more interested in the barn cats- especially the kitty that looks somewhat like Stefani. Annabelle is the little pony who runs loose on the property and greets everyone. She came right up to me and said hello when I pulled in:) Playing tic tac toe with the homemade board:)

July 4th, 2017

Jasmine played with her neighborhood friends all day. We were originally going to go watch fireworks at Bonanzaville- which is what we did last year, but decided to stay home for two reasons. It was supposed to rain and hail- which it never ended up doing. In addition, it is legal for anyone in the city to launch their own fireworks. I am completely amazed that this is legal!! All we had to do was sit on our back porch and watch zillions of fireworks go off all around us. Some of them were right over our head- very dangerous. I am guessing this will not be legal for long since around 5000 people per year are moving to Fargo. I can't imagine that in years to come, they will allow everyone to set off their own fireworks around the houses. Just watching fireworks on our porch! Here is a pig tail "fish tail" that Jasmine did on my hair:) Stefani sleeping peacefully, however she spent most of the night hiding under the bed due to the loud fireworks! Poor kitty was terrified:(

Happy Birthday Stefani!

Today is Stefani's 1st birthday. She received a ball toy that lights up when she touches it with her paw:) as well as an extra special breakfast!

Jewelry class....

Last week, Jasmine took a little jewelry making class. She made me a necklace, bracelet, and almost a second necklace. They learned Morse Code in the class. The pink and blue bracelet says "I Love You, Mom" in Morse Code. Jasmine can actually be somewhat nice on rare occasions.
