Easter presents from Brenda!

Here is Jazzy opening an Easter present from Brenda, Tim and Margie:) She ran in the door and saw the box addressed to her and wanted to open it right away. I wouldn't let her open it until she did her homework- otherwise, the homework never would have been done. Mean mommy! It was definitely a way to get her to do her homework in 10 minutes- which is how it's supposed to be done- rather than spending the whole night on it! Thanks Brenda:)) Uh oh!- make up:)

St. Patrick's Day!

At the rink on St. Patty's day. Here is Jasmine forcing a smile when she was actually sick. She was whining and complaining - which is not unusual- so I didn't think anything of it. About an hour later, I found her collapsed on a table at the rink with a really bright red face and temp of 103. She got to spend a couple days at home. A week later, she still has quite a cough going on.

Skating recital...

Today was a little practice dress rehearsal for a competition next month. Jazzy did pretty well with her "Somewhere Out There" Dramatic Program, then was way off the music on her "I Want To Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" Artistic Program. Oh well, it was just a practice day:)

Scottsdale Fiesta Dog Show at Westworld....

We took a little trip over to Westworld today- same place as the Arabian Horse Show. Twenty one simultaneous show rings going on with every imaginable breed. 10,000 dogs there! Really chilly - which was nice for a change today. Checking out the Samoyeds! This lady was on her way to the show ring and let us take a photo with her:) Same with this lady:)) I really liked the Bloodhound on the left. Before the class, I asked the guy if I could take a photo of his dog with Jasmine. He said "yes..after the class". He won the class then walked by us and we didn't get a photo:( Kind of snotty, but I liked his dog. We ate junk food at the food booths:(( "Meet the Breeds"- The only two breeds at the "Meet the Breed" was a West Highland White Terrier and a Soft Coated Wheaton. Weird. Watching the Schnauzers:)

The Backster Effect - My 3rd Grade Science Project

So glad this is over!!! I learned about Cleve Backster from David Wilcock. "We" thought we would do a little mini version of a Cleve Backster-ish experiment. We started with three equal sized Mexican Tarragon plants, transplanted them into pots with organic soil, and watered each daily. On most days with quite a bit of coaxing and whining, Jasmine gave one plant the emotion of love for one minute, the emotion of hate/negativity for one minute to another plant, and no emotion to the third plant. We measured each plant on three dates to compare the growth rate. The one given love definitely grew faster. I REALLY don't want to do this again next year. For what it is worth (probably nothing), I am going to talk to the principal to see if somehow it can be made into an optional projection instead of being required. Pain in the rear making the board by myself, and I really don't think Jasmine learned much of anything about it.

Super Busy Saturday.....

Extra skating on Friday night from now on, go home, sleep for a couple of hours, back to the rink on Saturday morning. Then...a gymnastics workshop that EVERYONE be attending, so we HAVE TO GO:)), lots of homework, then Chinese New Year concert. The Chandler Children's Choir sang at the Chinese New Year performance at the Mesa Arts Center. I think they were asked to go because several of the kids parents in CCC are dancers and performers with the Chinese Arts Academy. Got home very late and had to carry Jasmine in the house because she couldn't wake up to walk:))
