Neverland Pirate Camp ...:)

We're off today for another camp- this time very short- only 3 days at Willow Springs in Prescott, AZ. It's only 3 days because of the July 4th holiday, So first Jasmine tells me that she wants me to be the "bus mom", but when I am there- she constantly gives me dirty looks and won't even say goodbye. So... I'm definitely not doing it again if we go to one more camp in a couple of weeks. Here she is "helping me".. sort of...get name tags on all of the luggage. Jasmine getting off the bus at Willow Springs. Jasmine talking with a little girl who was in their cabin last year at Shadow Rim Ranch. (I remember her because she has the same pink hair as last year:( At least there were only 38 girls on the bus this time instead of 51,...plus the DVD player on the bus actually worked this time. It always helps to show a movie which kills a good 1 1/2 hours. We watched.."Judy Moody- summer camp".. or something like that. I got it at the grocery store for this special occasion. I did have a little run in with a couple of smart elec 13 yr old girls who wouldn't move out of my seat. I told them to get their butts out of my seat right now or I will physically pick them up and toss them out. They moved right behind me and kicked my seat for the entire 3 hour ride.. ugghhh....

Choir Camp....Showtime 2015!

This week was spent at Chandler Children's Choir Camp where they prepared and rehearsed daily an original musical- Showtime 2015- (written by one of the moms). I volunteered on the last day to help serve lunch- pizza and watermelon:) so I did get an attempt at a few photos and videos. Jasmine purposely stays on the other side of the room, turns her head away and back to me every time I try to take a photo or video. I did catch her a couple of times on stage though. Eating lunch with friends: Onstage:

Home from Horse Camp today!

Three hour ride up, three hour ride back. Exhausting! All the Frontier Girls at Horse Camp. Jasmine said she was very cold! The schedule for each day...barn lessons, science project (OMG - not again!!). They had to build a tee pee with some sticks and rubber bands. That's not too bad:) Water fight, dances at night, archery, banquet, cook outs. One night they were supposed to "sleep out", but it rained (supposedly). I'm not sure if I really believe that! Badges from this week and previous years:) This is Jasmine after about 10 seconds in the car until I woke her up to get out of the car:))

Summer fun so far:)

Two weeks of skating and swimming, then Girl Scout Horse Camp!!! Yeah- four days of freedom for me. There is no way I will get everything done that I need to do in just 4 days... Swimming with Instructor Matt at Gold Medal Swim School. Just getting off the bus at Camp Maripai for a week of riding horses:)

End of the school year stuff...

A funny paragraph written by Jasmine! Especially the part about me getting mad when she gets ice cream all over the car:) An "award" given to Jasmine (and all her classmates) from Mrs. Gromko who has been the substitute teacher for 2 months. Mrs. Spoonhunter had a baby and has been MIA since April. We really like Mrs. Gromko!

Weekend of parties....

Two skating classes Saturday morning... our regular "Specialty Class" where they work on jumps, spins, and power skating, then a new class called "Theater on Ice". I thought it would be good for Jasmine to take the class since she is so unexpressive in her skating. Only two people signed up since there was a competition that day. So...they made the class free since it was the first time they were offering it. Suddenly there were 9 people in the class. Next off to Charlotte and Camille's birthday party- two twin sisters who are alternately in Jasmine's class at school. They always have a book exchange at their party. Here's all the kids crowding around waiting for their number to be called so they can get the book of their choice:) A dog book, of course! From the birthday party, we went straight to the end of the year Chandler Children's Choir cookout at Tumbleweed park:)

growing our own salad!

Jazzy and I decided to grow our own microgreens and salad. We already make our own sprouts in glass jars, but the microgreens are a bit bigger. I got tired of paying 5.00 for a little handful of microgreens at Whole Foods every few days when they cost about 40cents to grow. I also ordered a vertical grower for larger salad greens. Don't know where we're going to put it yet:) Here they are after only 4 days! Spicy radishes, sunflowers, and broccoli for the sulphurophanes (for increasing the detox pathways in the body). The only problem is that Jasmine checks them about every 15 minutes when she is home. They grow really fast but not THAT fast!
